Allan Wells Sports Lecture – an evening with Sir Steve Redgrave

Allan Wells and Sir Steve Redgrave Wednesday 7 March marked the inaugural Allan Wells Sports Lecture at the University of Surrey. This first event was headlined by 5-time Olympic Champion Sir Steve Redgrave who gave a highly motivating lecture sharing many personal insights about the highs and lows of his career. This provided a fitting platform for us to launch this annual event in the University's calendar.

The event was a great success, due in no small part to the role played by both Allan Wells himself and the BBC's Garry Richardson who acted as compere, running the evening and providing humorous entertainment for all to enjoy.

The event was in support of the Surrey Centre for Sport, a £33m campaign for a new world class sports centre at the University.

The University is grateful to Charles Russell solicitors for its financial sponsorship, which made this event possible.
