Surrey Centre for Sport - be a part of it
A campaign for the University of Surrey
About the project

The need for development

The current sports facilities at Surrey have served us well but they were designed forty years ago for far fewer students – we now have 12,000 as opposed to 2,000 then. These same facilities are struggling to accommodate a huge increase in demand and the level of opportunity our students deserve.

Growing community participation also presents further challenges: hundreds of local teams and clubs depend on our training and competition facilities, so it is vital that we are able to meet the increasing need.

Professor Christopher Snowden "The role of recreational sport is as important as the social environment for students when choosing a university. At Surrey we are committed to providing a world-class sports facility which will rival any in the higher education sector in the UK."

Professor Christopher Snowden, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive

University Fact Academic alignment - our new sports centre is perfectly aligned with our strength and world-class reputation in subjects relating to nutrition and health science.
