Surrey Centre for Sport - be a part of it
A campaign for the University of Surrey
About the project

World class facilities

The new centre will be one of the best equipped in the region, providing world-class sports facilities, state-of-the-art fitness equipment and unrivalled provision for disability sport.

The centre has been designed by internationally renowned architects, FaulknerBrowns, whose reputation has been recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Association of Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS). Their expertise has created an exciting and imaginative design, displaying sensitive awareness of the environment and exceptional standards of sustainability.

Central to our plans is a 50m swimming pool. The eight lane pool will feature a variable level floor which allows for different aquatic sports to take place concurrently and for a shallow end to be created for recreational use and disabled access.

"Building a 50m pool at the University of Surrey has the potential to revolutionise swimming in the South of England, offering opportunities for the University to build an elite squad, and for local clubs and competition
swimmers to train in a long course facility."

The University also has a distinguished involvement in racket sports. We are a Regional Centre of Excellence, and a Gold Award Charter Club, both accredited by England Squash. In addition, we are working with Badminton England to promote the game at all levels.

University Fact Over a ten year period, our record on employment is unrivalled, with the highest number of Surrey graduates entering employment within six months of graduation of any UK university.
